Bump Date: Gestational Diabetes?

Since its been a minute since I updated specifically on my pregnancy, I thought I'd update the Internet on what's happening with Baby #3!

Last Friday I entered my third trimester and the day before I drank that delicious (ahem - gross) Glucola and have my blood drawn.

Weight Gain: up 8 lbs
Blood Pressure: normal

- snickers
- Big Macs
- Carrots

After a week of trying to be patient and wait for the results of my glucose test, I called the doctor.

I've been abnormally tired lately, so I just blamed it on our move, my two girls (2 and 1), and the fact that I've not eating the best. Well, turns out my iron levels are low. Sooooo, I now will be adding extra iron supplements to my diet.

Butttttt guesssssss whatttttttttt

I passed my glucose test!!!!!!! No gestational diabetes!!!!!!!!!! This is huge, especially since this is my third pregnancy and my first time passing my third trimester screening!

I danced around my living room for quite some time and am so excited to not have  to spend the next 11+ weeks pricking my fingers 4x a day!

Such a great non scale victory!!!

Question of the day: what was your last non-scale victory?

Trimester Two: Fitness Recap

Hello my friends,

Can you believe we are in the last trimester for this pregnancy? I'm not sure where the time went, but it went!

So, let's recap my trimester 2 fitness!

In trimester 1 I was much more scheduled with my workouts. However, when trimester 2 rolled around we were in the midst of working towards finalizing the purchase of our condo and the final preparations for our week volunteering at a children's camp for a week. So, my fitness routine slipped away.

I did keep up with exercise a few times a week and did activities such as:
- walking
- squats
- swimming
- chasing my two girls ( 2 & 1)
- going to the zoo
- going to Disney

Although I have gained the most during this pregnancy, I've still only gained 8 pounds total and am well within the weight gain goals my doctor and I discussed at the beginning of this pregnancy.

It's hard for me to see the scale numbers rise, mostly because from 2012 - 2013 (pre-pregnancy with baby number 1) I worked so hard to get my health in order and lost around 70 pounds!

Each pregnancy is a journey, and I'm thankful for the gift of life growing inside my belly and little girl, YOU are worth every ounce of weight, every swollen ankle, every discomfort because YOU are a treasure!

Question of the day: what are your favorite ways to sneak exercise into a busy day?

Sweet Summertime 2016 - May and June Edition.

Since it's been a month since I updated (sorry-not-sorry), I thought I'd share what's been going on lately.

A Home for the Jimenez'
We've identified a home, gone through the process and are waiting for a closing date from the bank. We are hoping to close soon.

Baby Jimenez' # 3
We found out of June 6th that baby number three is a healthy, thriving baby GIRL! We celebrated by bringing home Pink doughnuts for our two toddlers, and have been working on a name.

I'm still feeling pretty well, despite a stomach virus that swept through our house Father's Day weekend. There is nothing like vomiting so forcefully you can't breathe. ...seriously, never. again. I don't wish that on anyone!

Friends for our Girls
Our girls are settling back into Miami life very well. We've joined up with a great group of moms who have children close in age to the girls and it has been such a blessing in both my life and our children. They LOVE to go to the zoo, and different play dates with the kids. I enjoy seeing some other moms, and having friendly conversation.

Anything else?
Between play dates, zoo dates and life there really hasn't been much happening. My little corner of the internet has suffered because I have been more focused on my family. More and more I come to the realization that our time with our children is way too short.

So, what's new in your life? Any fun summer plans or activities happening in your life?

If you miss me, you can find me over on snapchat and instagram with the username @storybookerin I'm still very active on those social media platforms.

Until next time...

Baby Number 3 Trimester 1 - Fitness Recap

I have been blessed with healthy pregnancies, that allowed me to run and remain active throughout the entire time.  With all fitness goals and routines, I consulted my Doctor and when running, made sure I stayed at a "conversational" pace. I am not a medical professional, this is just what I did with the clearance from my doctor.

I trained for and ran three Disney races during my first trimester.
  • I did yoga 2 to 3 times per week
Goals for Trimester 2.

Since it's starting to get really hot, and I don't have access to a treadmill anymore I won't be running. I don't feel comfortable with it, especially since I took a couple weeks off of running when we were packing up our apartment to move (Life Update here).

I have been walking with the double jogger and continuing to do a lot of yoga and other strength training. My goal is to be active 3 to 4 times a week for the rest of this trimester.

Question of the day: What are your fitness goals for this month?

Weekly Chase - May 2016

Well Friends, it's been a minute (or three) since I joined Mindy for the Weekly Chase.  If you read my Life Update, you understand why.

This weekend was jam packed with house hunting, going to the zoo, birthday pool party for Tita (Auntie), and church. Still haven't found the right house, but there really isn't anything available in our budget right now. We just have to be patient...

Here are my goals for the week.

1. Walk at least 2 mornings.
2. Yoga at least 2 times
3. Schedule pediatrician apts
4. Update doctors with new insurance

Question of the day: What's your favorite animal at the zoo?

Life Update - May 2016

Can I just tell you that my life as been literally insane since my last post . Well, actually since before that post. So allow me to share what's been going on in our lives.

The best way I can explain the crazy is to give a little timeline of the last couple of weeks.

Friday, April 14 - Announce Baby # 3!!  Hooray!!! On this day we left for Disney to run the Darkside Half Marathon, I also had a doctors appointment AND we got a phone call from a University in Miami offering my husband a position. (Pretty much the greatest day ever!)

Monday, April 17 - Start date agreed upon.

When we arrived home on April 17th, we started packing our home in Fort Myers right away because my husband would be starting a new job back home in Miami in three weeks. So, I spent every opportunity packing, packing, packing (at 4 months pregnant).

Saturday, April 30 - MOVING DAY! We spent Saturday moving back to Miami, cleaning our apartment and turning in the keys.

Monday, May 1st - Baby Appointment and 3 hour glucose test (spoiler alert - I PASSED).

Wednesday, May 4th - Go visit friends and family in Central Florida, soak up some Disney fun.

Sunday, May 8th - Mother's Day at Epcot

Monday, May 9th - Daddy's first day!!!

So where are we now? After a year of gaining experience in my husbands field of study the Lord opened the doors for us to move back home to Miami. We are currently searching for a home to call ours, and loving life back in South Florida.

We are forever grateful for all those who prayed for us during the crazy transition, and are continuing to lift us up in their thoughts and prayers.
